- 50g (1/4 cup) light brown sugar, packed
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 ripe bananas, mashed
- 190g (1 1/2 cups) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 150g (1 cup) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- In a large bowl, combine the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Mix well with a whisk until smooth.

- Stir in the mashed bananas until evenly incorporated.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gently fold the dry ingredients into the banana mixture using a spatula or wooden spoon until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Fold in the chocolate chips until they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it out evenly with a spatula.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before cutting them into squares.
