Ingredients
- 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter, softened
- 1/3 cup (67g) packed brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (180g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup (120g) chopped pecans
- 1 cup (240ml) caramel sauce
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line a 9×9 inch (23×23 cm) baking pan with parchment paper, allowing some to hang over the edges for easy removal later.
- In a medium bowl, combine the flour, butter, brown sugar, and salt. Mix until crumbly.
- Press this mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan to form the crust. Ensure it is even and firmly packed.
- Bake the crust in the preheated oven for 15 minutes or until lightly golden. Remove and let it cool for 10 minutes.
- Sprinkle the chocolate chips and chopped pecans evenly over the cooled crust.
- Pour the caramel sauce evenly over the chocolate chips and pecans, spreading it with a spatula if necessary to ensure even coverage.
- Return the pan to the oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the caramel is bubbling and the edges are lightly browned.
- Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
- Once cooled, use the overhanging parchment paper to lift the bars out of the pan.
- Cut into 16 squares. Serve and enjoy your Turtle Bars!
